The Brazilian international, is on holiday in Rio de Janeiro as of now. He is to commit to the Spanish champions until the year 2022.
Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo report about it extensively. It says that his new deal will include a £186 million (€230m) release clause. Any club will have to compensate if they are to take him away from the Nou Camp.
He has two years left to run on his existing contract. The offer of a new one is something that Barcelona have been weighing up since last year.
The 24-year-old thought a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain. but any likelihood of that happening will be quashed if a new deal at Barcelona is about.
Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper report that PSG’s robust Brazilian defender Marquinhos could be on his way to Barcelona.
