The past two or so weeks have been really aching for Sri Lankan cricket team. Firstly they lost the record of highest ODI totals in history when England smashed a new world record 444 runs against Pakistan. And now they have been deprived of the highest T20 total as well. This time however it was their own mistake as Australian batters notched up the record 263 run in an International T20 game. Australia is currently in Sri Lanka for an elongated tour that is almost at its conclusion. The Test series between the sides was won by the hosts. Australia were whitewashed by the islanders for the first time in cricket history. However the wounded kangaroos have made a brilliant comeback even after losing their captain Steven Smith. The regular skipper for the side was taken back halfway in the tour.

Despite playing under David Warner the side has already won the ODI series by a margin of 4-1. At the moment the T20 games are being played. In the first T20 game as well Australia were triumph as they easily beaten the home side. However the game was much more than a victory for the Aussies as they scored the highest ever t20I score in history. In doing so one man held his nerves and that is Glenn Maxwell. The ODI drop-out made a brilliant comeback to record the second highest individual T20I scores in cricket history. Playing as an opener, Glenn Maxwell scored 145 runs and carried his bat. His unbeaten 145 runs came in just 65 balls.
